MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard, and denotes a fiberboard with medium density. MDF is a wood based material and is produced by combining wood fibers with synthetic resin under appropriate temperature and pressure. It is produced in different density and thicknesses depending on areas of use. MDF can be used as an alternative to solid wood material. Because it offers homogenous density at every point, it gives the ability to render both its surfaces and its edges using a machine without any breakage and it serves as a very solid base for both painting applications and decorative covering applications, offering ease of use in numerous areas. MDF is used effectively in the production of products like tabletops, door panels, closet structures and doors, and wall panels. It is possible to apply liquid surface material like paints and varnish to MDF easily and apply printed motifs. It holds screws and adhesives without any problem. MDF is a commonly preferred product for interior design applications.
