Particleboard is obtained by mixing wood flakes with artificial resin adhesives and pressing it under high temperature and pressure. It is also known as “Sunta” among public in Turkey and Sunta is actually the name of the company that first product particleboard in Turkey. It is produced in different density and thicknesses depending on areas of use.
Particleboard offers the mechanical and physical features required by numerous applications. It has a robust middle layer and a smooth surface. It can be combined using nails, screws and adhesives and surface applications can be done easily. It is fit for use in almost every area. It is mostly preferred in closet structures and doors, and living room, bedroom and other living area furniture. In addition to the furniture production, particleboard is also used in flooring, prefabricated housed and door leaf cores.
